Dr. Robyn Walter-MrowiecDr. Robyn Walter-Mrowiec, a Lake Forest local, is our veterinarian and medical director. She has been practicing in the Chicago area for over 30 years. She graduated from the University of Illinois and has a passion for everything veterinary and family. She shares her life with three children, husband Andy, and a house full of pets.

Services
Wellness Care- We are passionate about maintaining your pets wellness through proper nutrition, appropriate body weight, activity, and vaccines as indicated by lifestyle. Our wellness exams are recommended annually for our younger patients and twice yearly for our senior patients to ensure we stay current with your pets health throughout their life.
Surgery- We provide routine surgical services such as spays and neuters and growth removals. Additionally we offer gastropexy to help prevent gastric dilatation and volvulus in deep chested/large breed dogs, and rhinoplasty to help our pups with narrow nostrils breathe easier!
Dentistry- We offer routine dental cleanings as well as necessary extractions and dental radiography. It’s estimated that 80% of dogs by 3 years of age have dental disease. We also recommend home dental care to prolong intervals between the necessary dental procedures and to maintain dental health.
Therapy Laser- we have the newest technology available in laser therapy. Laser therapy is a noninvasive, surgery-free, drug-free treatment for a variety of conditions.
Applications for laser therapy include:
- Treatments of arthritis, degenerative joint disease, or hip dysplasia
- General pain management (sprains, strains, and stiffness)
- Post surgery pain ( spay, neuters, and other surgeries)
- Skin problems (hot spots, lick granulomas, infections)
- Dental procedures
- Fractures and wounds (bites, abrasions, and lesions)
- Ear infections
Water Treadmill Fitness and Conditioning- The use of a water treadmill or can treat a variety of conditions. The water treadmill is used to strengthen and condition patients in a reduced pressure environment. Use of the treadmill can improve mobility and improve muscle function, improve range of motion in our arthritic patients, and promote weight loss.
Flea,Tick, and HeartwormWe recommend year-round flea & tick treatment and heartworm preventative. This is based upon changing climates and parasites.

Forest Bluff Animal Hospital is an affiliate of Harper College's Veterinary Assistant program as well as an externship site for students of Veterinary Technician programs. Students from these programs come to us to further their knowledge and hands-on training as a part of their journey into the field of veterinary medicine.

Forest Bluff Animal Hospital is a member of AKC's veterinary network program. This program connects enrolled veterinarians in the area with owners of AKC registered dogs. When a dog is registered with AKC he/she is eligible to receive a free first exam with us through this program.
