Dr. Robyn Walter-Mrowiec

Dr. Robyn Walter-Mrowiec, a Lake Forest local, is our veterinarian and medical director. She has been practicing in the Chicagoland area for over 30 years. She graduated from the University of Illinois and has a passion for everything veterinary and family. She shares her life with three children, husband Andy, and a house full of pets.

Joe K.- Veterinary Technician--  Joe has been a member of the Forest Bluff team since 2020.  He has been in the industry for over 25 years, performing in every capacity from Kennel Assistant to Hospital Manager.  He most enjoys being a part of preventative medicine and caring for surgical patients.  Joe loves movies, decorating his home and spending time with his rescue dogs, Lizzy & Miranda.   
Sarah E.- Receptionist-- Sarah has been with Forest Bluff since nearly the beginning!  She loves getting to know all of the people and their pets as the primary contact at the front desk.  Sarah spends her free time keeping her two dogs entertained!  She loves to read, work on art projects and fix up her "new" old house.  She is shares her house with Lenni the Rott and Mack the mutt!
Rose N.-Veterinary Technician- Rose has been a member of the Forest Bluff team since 2023.  She has been in the industry for about 4 years.  She is currently in school to become a Certified Veterinary Technician.  She loves getting to know clients and caring for their pets.  She is a proud owner of a rescue lab mix, Stevie Nicks.  In her free time she loves to watch reality tv, paint, read and snuggle or play with her dog.
England D.-Veterinary Technician- England started with Forest Bluff in August of 2023.  She's been in the field for about 8 years; the first 3 of which she spent in emergency medicine.  England enjoys getting to see pets through life milestones in general practice and is our primary surgery technician.  In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family, cats, dogs and horses.  Her family likes to hike and camp with their 2 dogs; Tracker and Kaiser.

Wellness Care- We are passionate about maintaining your pets wellness through proper nutrition, appropriate body weight, activity, and vaccines as indicated by lifestyle. Our wellness exams are recommended annually for our younger patients and twice yearly for our senior patients to ensure we stay current with your pets health throughout their life.

Surgery-  We provide routine surgical services such as spays and neuters and growth removals.  Additionally we offer gastropexy to help prevent gastric dilatation and volvulus in deep chested/large breed dogs, and rhinoplasty to help our pups with narrow nostrils breathe easier!

Dentistry- We offer routine dental cleanings as well as necessary extractions and dental radiography. It’s estimated that 80% of dogs by 3 years of age have dental disease. We also recommend home dental care to prolong intervals between the necessary dental procedures and to maintain dental health.

Therapy Laser- we have the newest technology available in laser therapy. Laser therapy is a noninvasive, surgery-free, drug-free treatment for a variety of conditions.
Applications for laser therapy include:
  • Treatments of arthritis, degenerative joint disease, or hip dysplasia
  • General pain management (sprains, strains, and stiffness)
  • Post surgery pain ( spay, neuters, and other surgeries)
  • Skin problems (hot spots, lick granulomas, infections)
  • Dental procedures
  • Fractures and wounds (bites, abrasions, and lesions)
  • Ear infections
How does it work? Laser therapy stimulates the body to heal from within. Non-thermal photons of light are administered to the body for about 3 to 8 minutes and absorbed by the injured cells. The cells are then stimulated and respond with a higher rate of metabolism. This results in relief from pain, increased circulation, reduced inflammation, and an acceleration of the healing process.

Water Treadmill Fitness and Conditioning- The use of a water treadmill or can treat a variety of conditions. The water treadmill is used to strengthen and condition patients in a reduced pressure environment. Use of the treadmill can improve mobility and improve muscle function, improve range of motion in our arthritic patients, and promote weight loss.

Flea,Tick, and Heartworm 

We recommend year-round flea & tick treatment and heartworm preventative. This is based upon changing climates and parasites.


​Vaccines

We recommend annual or 3 year vaccines based on a pet's exposure and social life. In addition we also recommend vaccine titers to reduce the number of vaccines administered.


​End of Life Decisions

Forest Bluff Animal Hospital offers euthanasia in our private bereavement room, allowing you and your pet the safe space you need to help them over the rainbow bridge.

A Teaching Hospital

Forest Bluff Animal Hospital is an affiliate of Harper College's Veterinary Assistant program as well as an externship site for students of Veterinary Technician programs. Students from these programs come to us to further their knowledge and hands-on training as a part of their journey into the field of veterinary medicine.
